The doctor, who examined Bill, was at his desk doing a report when he was paged by one of his interns. He returned the page with a phone call. The intern requested the doctor's assistance STAT. The doctor was a little perturbed because he was under the gun for getting his reports done on time. This had better be important he thought as he rounded the corner to the medical laboratory. "Alright what is it?" he asked. "Well…I was looking at the Morexcel, Bill blood sample and I couldn't make out… well…I couldn't make out…I mean", the intern said hesitantly. "Come on…what do you mean? Time is money", said the doctor." Well you take a look and tell me what you see", replied the intern. To which the doctor quickly responded"Wouldn't be easier if you tell me what you saw?" "No….I think you had better look for yourself", said the intern. Sounding very irritated the doctor responded," Tell me what you saw." " Well…I think I saw his blood…uh…glow" "Glow!", shouted the doctor,"that's outright ridiculous . Blood doesn't glow. Unless this guy was exposed to some kind of radioactivity. I think you have been working to many hours."" Doctor Sager I just started my shift. Take a look for yourself", retorted the intern. Reluctantly, the doctor looked into the microscope and all he saw were normal healthy blood cells."What kind of schoolboy prank is this", the doctor said angrily. "Just keep looking Doc", the intern insisted. The doctor continued to look and he saw what looked like little twinkling stars in the blood. Each twinkle was in a different location and showed up randomly." What the …I mean..what is this." I know Doc, it is really weird..eh", said the intern. The doctor then cleaned the lens of the microscope and his glasses. It didn't help, he still saw twinkles. "What could it be Doc?", the intern inquired. " I don't know.. and quit calling me Doc", replied the doctor. " All his test are normal…I don't get it." "Should I call for a specialist?", asked the intern.

"No.. let's not over-react to this situation. It's probably a flaw in the microscope lens. Get a hold of the manufacturer and return this defective one to him. The intern looked at the doctor as though he had something else to say. Then he turned and went about the task that the doctor had assigned to him. As Doctor Sager left the laboratory he thought, " Mr. Morexcel had no visible symptoms of illness, all his vitals were good. Let's give this thing some time before we jump the gun. I don't want to be in the middle of a doggoned malpractice suit."

"Your blood is not clean Mr. Tiger" said the man in the striped hat. " We must clean your blood" The man grabbed a giant vacuum hose and a knife. The knife glistened in pale light coming from the bedroom window. He raised the knife and a bolt of lightning struck the man and blew his head off. The man's lifeless body, still holding the knife, fell forward and plunged the knife deep into Bill's chest. Bill woke up in a cold sweat. He looked around the room and soon realized that it was just a dream. What a bizarre dream he thought. What would cause him think of something that bizarre. He lay back on his pillow with his eyes open and thought " I better make certain that Billy visits Bernard in the morning ."

Bill called Billy Reston and Billy got right on the case. He guaranteed Bill that all the charges against Bernard would be dropped before it went to trial. Bill imagined that Billy would probably call in some favors. Billy was good lawyer, but he didn't always play by the letter of the law. It helped to call in favors every now and then. It kept the old batting average up. Bill didn't pay Billy for the hows, he paid him for results. No got results better than Billy Reston, attorney at law.

Around noon, Bill heard from Billy. He had all the charges dropped . Bernard was a free man. Bernard spoke with Bill briefly. He thanked him and told Bill that he was headed straight to the unemployment office to straighten out his claim. Bill thanked Bernard once again for defending him. Billy Reston informed Bill that his assailant had made a full recovery and was due to be release from the hospital in the very near future. "That's great", thought Bill,"that's just what I need. Some crazy psychopath, that tried to kill me, out running loose!"
